World of Warcraft: the final Battle

Submitted by on April 10, 2011 No Comment

Cheating is universally frowned upon when it comes to games and contests. People have devised various means to get ahead in the World of Warcraft without learning the ropes and becoming familiar with effective game plans and other strategy. Genuine enthusiasts of the game find this practice highly objectionable.

Game owners, Blizzard, have taken this snag into account and have formulated ways of putting an end to it. They have had some successes in this regard but some other players still find ways of cheating. They use what is called WOW bot to achieve their nefarious goals.

World of Warcraft

Bots are computer programs designed to mimic the actions of a real human player. World of Warcraft cheats use bots to quickly climb the various stages of the game and help users having little or no skill.

Blizzard is strictly against this practice due to the negative impact this practice can have on the game play. When a newbie is able to reach the top levels of the game in very little time, the fun of the game is greatly diminished.

Often times, Blizzard takes the hard decision of disallowing certain players from further participation in the game. In one given year alone, over ten thousand were outlawed due to their constant use of bots to gain higher positions in the game.

Blizzard’s deterrent has not been far reaching enough. Cheats have found better ways of cheating without being discovered. These unscrupulous players do not take Blizzard’s warnings seriously. They find no reason to stick with the end user agreement they entered into with the company.

There are a number of other prohibitions imposed by Blizzard. One of them is the use of intermediary software during game play. Using a bot to gain advantage during game play is a direct breach of this prohibition.

Users are not permitted to let somebody else use their accounts, neither are they allowed to sell their accounts. However, parents care sometimes allowed to share their accounts with their under aged kids. Consulting World of Warcraft user agreements is a good way of finding out how not to get your account banned.

Many new players do not take the time out to read the World of Warcraft user agreements. They are too eager to begin playing the game and may simply agree to whatever terms they see, without so much as reading a word of the text. This has implications as these players risk getting their accounts banned in the future, due to poor knowledge of the terms of use.

Players who cheat by the use of Warcraft bots soon discover the pitfall of indulging in this practice. To become adept at playing any game, especially World of WarCraft, patience and practice is needed to master the techniques of the game. People, who cut corners by using Warcraft bots, miss out on this important lesson. They may be successful in overcoming the challenge posed by computer manipulated opponents, but when it comes to playing with genuine human opponents, they crumble like a pack of cards.
